Called to Egypt
I landed in Cairo in 2023 with a spiritual group, mostly hypnotherapists who, like me, had felt Egypt humming in our bones since childhood. We’d each answered a nudge about past-life resonance and were ready for temples, initiations, and maybe a little sand-blasted clarity.
Peter, my business partner at The Sanctuary at Kahuna Falls in Hawai‘i, had invited me. We felt called, but we had no idea how much this trip would unfold beyond the itinerary. The organizers had their own agenda, but Spirit showed up with one that was much bigger.
Some of that traveling circle became friends for life. Others were pop-up teachers who pushed my buttons in strange little ways. That’s another story for another post.
Meeting Rabie
On day one we met Rabie. Egyptian, third-generation tour guide, deeply spiritual and grounded. He walked us through what he calls “unknown Egypt,” sharing layers of wisdom that rarely show up in guidebooks.
He wasn’t just a guide. He carried a presence that made the land feel more alive. I felt a quiet but undeniable past-life resonance with him. Something old clicked back into place.
Oils, Tea, and Déjà Vu
One afternoon he took us to a local perfumery known for its pure essential oils. We were all exhausted from nonstop temple visits and spiritual activations. This cool, shaded shop was a welcome rest stop.
While sipping hibiscus tea and learning from the shop owner, I laid back on a soft couch. I looked up at the painted ceiling and froze.
I’d been here before. With Rabie.
It wasn’t a thought. It was a full-body knowing. The kind that doesn’t ask for proof.
The Invitation
Toward the end of the trip, Rabie mentioned to the women organizing the journey that he was looking for partners to help finish a traditional Nile sailboat called a dahabiya. The boat, already named Fayrouz, was under construction upriver.
He invited us to visit the shipyard. There were no cranes or machines. Just generations of craftsmen working by hand with pulleys, welders, and wood. The smell of sawdust and sunbaked river mud hung in the air.
Peter turned to me and said, “This reminds me of when I invested in the Hawai‘i retreat center.” Two decades ago he and his son were invited to say yes to a dream they barely understood. That yes became the sanctuary I now help lead.
We took our time. We prayed, journaled, checked in with our guides and inner knowing, talked through every piece. And eventually we said yes.
Not from an investment standpoint. From a calling. From the part of us that lives for aligned adventure.

Built by Hand, Held by Lineage
Over the past year, Fayrouz has been taking shape in a riverside village where building boats is a generational art. No heavy machinery, just legacy work. Craftsmanship. Rhythm.
Here’s what she holds:
Ten cabins with full river views
Two suites with private outdoor hot tubs overlooking the Nile
A massage room for rituals and oils
An indoor dining salon designed for late-night connection and ceremony
Fayrouz means turquoise in Arabic. A stone associated with the goddess Hathor, a personal guide of mine. Turquoise is also connected to the throat chakra. This boat carries truth in its bones.
Research on the River
Last fall I went back to Egypt to float the Nile and gather insight. I joined a retreat led by actress and activist AnnaLynne McCord aboard another dahabiya.
I gained new soul sisters and received another round of mystical experiences and spiritual activations. I also took notes. How to improve shade. How storage flows. How to create even more sacred space.
The vision became clearer.
Why the Nile, Why Me
On another journey, this time in Brazil, I sat in a plant medicine ceremony and received a very clear message.
Bring your work to the Nile.
Water is a great unifier. A record keeper. I’ve studied the work of Dr. Masaru Emoto for years and deeply believe that water holds emotion, intention, memory.
The Nile is one of Earth’s most ancient water libraries. Fayrouz is how I will show up in devotion to that.
This is my work as a water priestess. Still unfolding. Still being revealed. But I’m here for it.
Timeline
Fayrouz will be finished in about 30 days.
Peter and I return in 48 days to bless her maiden voyage.
After that, I’ll return once more to sail with my beloved priestess sisters. Together, we’ll offer a blessing for the boat and humbly ask the Nile for permission to journey upon her waters for decades to come.
Sneak peek of the concept design! I can't wait to share the finished sanctuary with you soon.
What This Is
This is not about business as usual.
This is not about ROI first.
This is about lineage, calling, resonance, service. It’s about water. It’s about remembering what’s sacred.
Egypt is calling many of us forward in this chapter of human history. There is a frequency coming from the land, the river, the temples. So much of it can’t be put into words. You feel it or you don’t.
And if you’re reading this far, maybe you’re feeling it too. I can’t wait to walk in beauty with you…like an Egyptian ;-)
